Everyone is keen enough to look better, eat better, clad better, house in better shelter, drive better two wheeler, have better education and so on. The set of good sand services used by people determines their standard of living. A consumer life style is made up of the ways of living an individual or group leads, which is distinct from others. It reflects the extend of satisfaction that an individual gets by use of necessities, comforts and luxuries of life and living. The standard of living of society is bound to be higher one, which is capable of making available more and more goods and services so that an average man enjoys these goods and services as they are brought within his easy reach.

Advertising has been instrumental in influencing the customers to desire the goods and services beyond the bare requirements of food, clothing and shelter. Advertising information regarding both the existing and the new products and services is made available to the members of all income groups of the society. It makes the people to move from needs to wants by working effectively on sales side. It converts desires into demand that give a push to increased production, which in turn leads to increased consumption where the benefits of large scale production are transmitted to the consumers in the form of greater, better and cheaper production.
T is important to note that advertising is not always the cause of higher standard of living. At many times, higher standard of living arises as a cause of increased advertising. It’s because, if one person is used to a particular lifestyle, he tries to change from good to better and from better to best. There is no end for this as even the best can be improved upon. It is advertising that makes possible search and fulfillment towards improved standard of living.
I always seem to be in some weird mix with the opposite sex. There's always someone that I want to date or am interested in, or there is someone who wants to date or is interested in me. I liked having male friends more than female friends because girls usually have a lot more drama among them. Now, looking back on my life, I'm realizing I've had more drama with the opposite sex than with my fellow females. Sometimes it's hard to just be friends, but then it's also hard when you don't want to be in a fully committed relationship.

I seem to be the kind of person that wants what she can't have, but then doesn't want it anymore when she does get it. This has happened multiple times with multiple males. For about two years now I've been in a weird friendship/a little more than friends but not quite boyfriend/girlfriend type of relationship. I thought I wanted to date this guy for a long time, but finally (and not easily, I must say) I convinced myself it was a lost cause and sort of got over him, but stayed best friends. Now he thinks he may want to date me...he wants me to move to the east coast or west coast (which would be nice, but I'm just starting my job here) so that we can try things out. I really really don't know what I want. Part of me thinks he could be the one..but another part of me still wants to see what's out there, as I feel like I've never been fully "single" because there's always been SOMEONE that I've been connected to in some way or another. I have no idea what I want and am so confused (see...drama...lol >_<). Any ideas/advice?

Best tips for keeping the weight off over the holidays

Hey ladies... I thought it'd be interesting to hear your strategies for maintaining (and not gaining!) weight during the holiday season. I usually try to hit the gym 3-5 times a week. I found these tips and sound them to be pretty good ideas. What ideas do you have?

1. Ditch the idea of having to be perfect. Allow yourself to slack a bit over the holidays. Put your focus on maintaining your weight rather than losing weight.

2. Eat small meals throughout the day. Don’t try to save room for one big meal by skipping breakfast, lunch or snacks. Aside from making you even hungrier, skipping meals and snacks negatively affects your metabolism.

3. Eat before you go. Attend to party on an empty stomach, and you can expect to gain weight. Have a light snack or cup of soup to control hunger and help you stay away from high-calorie foods.

4. Fill up on water. Carry around a water bottle or a glass of water while at a party. Water fills you up and causes you to eat less while flushing out harmful toxins.

5. Limit alcoholic beverages. Drinking at parties may be tempting, but it will be hard to maintain your weight through the holidays if you indulge in too many alcoholic beverages. Set a limit of one or two drinks and then switch to water to prevent dehydration and save calories.

6. Schedule time to exercise. The best way to avoid weight gain from Christmas to New Year is to stay on track with a regular exercise routine. It's a busy time of year for everyone, but don't lose sight of the bigger picture.

7. Keep your weight loss goals in sight. Review your weight loss goals every morning and remind yourself why it is so important for you to lose weight. Imagine how you'll feel on New Year's Day when you begin the new year with a weight gain. Stay on track this year and instead of feeling defeated, you'll feel empowered.

8. Set saboteurs straight. Tell your friends and family about your maintenance goal for the holidays. Ask for their help to stay on track and explain that even though you would love to meet some of your favorite foods, they do not fit in with your weight loss goals. Saboteurs are often jealous, but if you explain that you want to lose weight for health reasons, it is usually better received.

9. Judge your progress by how your clothes fit. Put the scale away for the holidays and give yourself some wiggle room. Gaining a few pounds isn't the end of the world, but if your pants start to feel tight, then you know it is time to cut back.

10. Celebrate traditions that don't involve eating. Sharing stories, looking through old photos, making scrapbooks or wreaths, playing board games and volunteering your time are just a few of the ways you can celebrate the holidays without overeating.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada...index.html

I'm going to buy the ingredients tonight and let you know how it goes =).

I like cooking, but I usually look for recipes online because we don't have family recipes passed down from generation to generation.

What are your favorite holiday recipes?

Is it possible?

I just started working at a new place and am trying to make friends, but everyone is married or about to be married. Someone invited me to hang out, but sort of blew me off today when we were supposed to go.

A friend of mine said maybe he felt guilty, or that his wife wouldn't let him go. This friend thinks it's alright to stay friends with people of the opposite sex once you get married, but it's hard/impossible to become friends with a single person of the opposite sex after marriage. I do have a male friend that is married, but we became friends before he actually got married.

I've never really been around too many married people before as I've just graduated from college recently. This is all somewhat strange for me.

Thoughts?

My mom has been trying to get an H1N1 flu vaccination. Pharmacies keep telling her that they aren't available, and when they do become available, the first batch will only go to mothers and their children...

How did Goldman Sachs get them then? And I think some other companies are able to offer the vaccine to their employees as well.

How do you ladies feel about this? Have any of you been able to procure the vaccination?

Hi ladies,

Krissie here with a question about how you feel about adding a belt to your outfit. Personally, I've found them to be quite useful for spicing up an oversized tank or shirt. It definitely helps accentuate your figure.

Does anyone use them to actually keep your pants up? This doesn't really work for me, because if I make it too loose, my pants just fall anyway, and if I make it too tight sometimes I get a bit of a muffin top >_<.

What's your favorite belted look? =P
